Sammi is lost and has had her entire world turned upside down. Looking to find some peace and balance as she attempts to put her life back together, she travels to her childhood home on the East Coast...

Cato and Caldyr are brothers who couldn't be more different, who are searching for one special woman. Cato is lighthearted and looks on the brighter side of things. Caldyr is brooding and angry- bitter about the loss he's suffered in his life.

Together, they rule the undersea world of Unducia, kingdom of the Myr. Unducia is slowly dying. The effects of man's pollution of the ocean, as well as the unrelenting attacks of the Pirogh – malevolent whale shifters – are taking a toll on the kingdom. Unducia is a kingdom without a Queen – and without her magic, the kingdom and its people are diminishing. When their two worlds collide, truths are revealed and an ancient enemy will stop at nothing to destroy Unducia and the Myr.

Will Sammi finally find the meaning to her life?

Will Cato and Caldyr find what is needed to save their world and their people?

Or will they all be swept away on the ocean's tide?

MERMAID MENAGE SHORT STORY ROMANCE

Mating Mermen An Unexpected Tail edition by Rebecca Elyon Literature Fiction eBooks

I really wanted to like this book. I really did. But it just missed the mark in a lot places for me.

I will say that I liked the Myr or mermen and their background. I also liked Cato and Caldyr.

There were a lot of problems with the writing and I became confused if Neil was Sammi's boyfriend or husband because was called both in the book. The author repeated sentences, but just worded them different so close together. This just made it hard to really get into the story due to the writing. I also did not realize that this was a short story and ended 5% into the book. Things felt rushed between Sammi and Cato. Sammi was not as smart as strong as she's made out to be, hence being talked into taking back her cheating boyfriend less than 30 minutes after she caught him. Wtf? I wanted more from this book, but I felt things were rushed and details got left out.

Mating Mermen An Unexpected Tail edition by Rebecca Elyon Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I voluntarily leave this review for the arc of this book. This was just the first few chapters of the book and a lot of short stories. It was a good plot though and I can't wait to read the rest because it leaves you hanging wanting the rest.
Loved the story, the details of it all. However I don't care to much for cliffhangers that make it so you have to keep buying the books to find out what happens like a mini series. Since I like the characters I will buy the future ones.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it. I liked the concept of this book and the story so much I had to buy the second book to find out what happened. I have only read the story Mating Mermen but there are other stories in the book. I will get to those eventually. I like the writers style and enjoy the paranormal aspects of the book.
I loved this story and the characters of Cato, Sammi and Caldyr! Although it was too soon to truly be a menage just yet. Especially since Caldyr is so resistant. That is my one complaint. This was billed as an HEA when it was more of a HFN ending since it's only book 1. Just wish it had been more clear that there would be multiple books to the story. I voluntarily reviewed a free copy.
It's short but so sweet. Sammi has her world turned upside down by discovering the truth about her relationship. She goes to stay at her mom's place a while before she was due. She meets Cato and Caldyr- she feels something but dismisses it. Cato saves her life & then reveals himself to her & tells her that she is destined to reign alongside him and Caldyr. There are problems that they are facing though, one being that Caldyr wants nothing to do with her. Can't wait to read the rest.
Perhaps, giving this two stars was far more generous than it deserved because it was really a poor story. How so? Well the world building was dismal and the characters had all the depth of stick figures. If Sammi was their hope for the future they're in big trouble. She was so self-involved and dense that she didn't realize her boyfriend wasn't that into her. She even caught him having sex with another man and demanded they go to therapy to try to fix this. Wait, get this, she caught her boyfriend sodomizing a guy and even then, it didn't occur to her that he was gay. tsk tsk, a little slow on the uptake aren't you honey? So she runs off to Maine to hide out at mommy's house and meets these two guys, mermen, and she feels this instantaneous connection--and in the next breath, she thinks they're creepy. Umm is creepy code for "I want to jump your bones"? Sigh, she had all the impulse control and maturity of a prepubescent child. I fear for the underwater world that expects that triad to protect them. The mermen weren't very fleshed out either Cato was the blond with deep blue eyes who had all the sense of responsibility of a seven year old. Now Caldyr was dark and brooding. Apparently, he's spent two hundred years mourning his dead wife. Yep, he's still grinding on that and unhappy that he is a consort that needs a queen. Mind you, he doesn't think he will ever have an emotional connection to another female so he's always semi angry. Mind you, none of the triad are very personable. Already I'm not sure I care what happens to anyone--I'm rooting for the Orcas. However, we get to the real purpose for the story--the sex. Yep Sammi and Cato get it on and they glow--who knew? The author didn't say but I bet these three have to have a threesome on multiple occasions so that they can shore up their dome. Of course--lots and lots of sex because we all know that relationships have nothing to do with understanding, kindness, love, sympathy or ick emotions. Sorry--sarcasm took over for a sec. Anyway, as someone already pointed out, the story stopped at 5% and gave us 29 filler shorts. So yes, to your burning question--there is a couple sequels for three bucks a pop. Since I don't care what happens to any of them, I'm afraid I'm going to have to pass. So, to summarize, unformed characters, thin plotline, and poor execution means I am going to give this author a pass in perpetuity.
Titled story ends at 5% of ebook. The rest is filled with 29 more short stories, some are second books in series. Just a bundle of different takes, some which have been published in other such bundles like this.
I really wanted to like this book. I really did. But it just missed the mark in a lot places for me.
